Stephane H recently shared their thoughts on Collaboration
versus Competition:
"This book should be a reference for all
leaders at all levels. In my case I am aiming to be a leader as a classroom
teacher. My favourite part was reading about the importance of building genuine
‘bonds’ with your team on a human level by being authentic and even vulnerable
as opposed to using tricks (the pen story comes to mind). Truly enlightening
book! I also appreciate how the language used is straight to point and reads as
authentic as the content of the book!"
I am deeply grateful to Stephane H for this
thoughtful and encouraging review of Collaboration versus Competition.
It is especially rewarding to hear from someone who is developing their own
leadership journey and reflecting on how the ideas in the book can be applied
within a classroom environment.
One of the central themes of the book is that
effective leadership is built on genuine human connection. While strategies and
systems certainly have their place, lasting collaboration often grows from
trust, authenticity, and the willingness to engage with others on a personal
level. I am delighted that Stephane connected so strongly with the discussion
around building real bonds rather than relying on techniques or shortcuts.
The chapter exploring authenticity and
vulnerability is particularly important to me because these qualities are not
always associated with leadership. Yet, in my experience, people are far more
likely to collaborate, contribute, and thrive when they feel valued, respected,
and connected to those around them. Whether in a classroom, a business, or any
other setting, meaningful relationships often form the foundation of successful
teamwork.
I am also pleased that Stephane appreciated
the direct and straightforward writing style. My goal was to present ideas in a
way that felt practical, accessible, and honest, reflecting the same
authenticity that the book encourages in leadership and collaboration.
My sincere thanks to Stephane H for such a
generous review. Knowing that the book has resonated with an aspiring leader
and encouraged reflection on the value of authenticity, trust, and human
connection is incredibly meaningful. I wish Stephane every success as they
continue their leadership journey in education.
